Antonio Gaudi's architecture is well known - but he wasn't the only architect working in the 'modernisme' style (similar to Art Nouveau). We take a tour through Barcelona, from the ancient city centre to the new districts with their long, wide avenues and fine boulevards, and see how technological advances as well as eclectic borrowings from styles as diverse as Catalan Gothic and Japanese architecture created a style that is synonymous with the city of Barcelona.
