Gloucester Cathedral was begun by the Normans and is still a Romanesque cathedral in its bones - but over this skeleton, later architects stretched a skin of lovely late Gothic work. This was the birthplace of the Perpendicular style, ethereal and lacy, with its delicate fan vaults. We'll also show you the tomb of a murdered king, and a couple of bodges where the masons had to shore up the overstressed structure of the cathedral!
