Salamanca houses Spain's greatest university - together with *two* cathedrals, one nestled in the shadow of the other. We'll visit the Renaissance Salamanca, a humanist university city of fine palaces with ornate carvings, as well as medieval churches and the lovely classical Plaza Mayor - perhaps the most perfect city square in the whole of Spain. We'll also meet some of the scholars and churchmen who made the Renaissance city.
