Walking through Jewish Amsterdam A walk with music and soundeffects.
Tamir Herzberg, grandson of the famous writer Abel Herzberg, walks with you through the history of Jewish Amsterdam.
He introduces you to Jews who came to Amsterdam in the 17th century. He takes you to the old Jewish quarter that comes alive as in a movie. Listen to the marketsounds and voices from the locals telling about their pre-war life and their work in the diamondindustry.
The story becomes threatening at the moment Hitler comes into power and Jews once more become unwanted strangers.
This filmic and interactive walk starts in front of the Jewish Historical Museum and guides you along the Waterloo Square, Gassan Diamonds and the Plantage-neighbourhood.
Optimal walking hours: daily from 11.00 AM to 4.00 PM
